OONA PARVIAINEN
HEAD COACH
Arriving from Finland with an exceptional playing and coaching background, Oona brings world‑class expertise, a championship mindset, and a passion for developing the next generation of elite female athletes. A former elite forward, Oona’s playing career spans more than two decades at the highest levels of women’s hockey. She competed with top Finnish clubs—including KalPa, Espoon Blues, and RoKi—and earned an incredible nine Finnish championships, along with multiple silver and bronze medals. Oona also represented Finland on the international stage, skating in the 2002 Salt Lake City and 2006 Torino Olympic Games, as well as the 2005 IIHF World Championship in Norrköping. Following her decorated playing career, Oona transitioned seamlessly into coaching. She has led teams in Finland’s women’s major league, guided RoKi from the lowest division to the top tier, and contributed internationally as a guest coach at IIHF development camps and the USA Girls National 16/17 Player Development Camp. Oona’s coaching philosophy is rooted in honesty, approachability, and a deep commitment to athlete growth. She is widely respected for her strong hockey IQ, leadership, and her ability to blend European structure with North American pace and physicality—a combination that will elevate the performance, confidence, and competitiveness of our athletes.
REMI HARVEY
ASSISTANT COACH
Remi Harvey is an experienced hockey professional with over 15 years of experience in mentoring and coaching, including over 25 years of playing hockey. With a unique upbringing to high performance hockey, including 9 years of playing for Australia in the IIHF World Championships, Remi has coached nationally and internationally for Ice Hockey Australia and has spent the past 2 years extending her high performance coaching in Toronto, Canada. Remi joins us after 2 successful seasons as an assistant coach with the Toronto Leaside JR Wildcats in the OWHL, where players have committed to NCAA D1 and OUA teams. Remi also spent the past season as an assistant coach with the York University Lions in the OUA, assisting players with their position specific knowledge and skills development. Also a passionate skills and power skating coach with a love for learning and teaching, Remi also worked as a skills coach for many different teams and companies, including Total Female Hockey with Kim McCullough at summer camps and single day camps, teaching on ice skills, dryland and mental skills development. She is known for loving all aspects of the game, whether it's sharpening skates, growing athletes' mindsets, self evaluation and personal skills, watching and evaluating game video or working on players on ice development or team game play, Remi throws herself into every part of the game she can. Prior to coaching in Canada, Remi has been involved with the Australian U18 National Team for the past 10 years, starting originally as a mentor, an equipment manager, assistant coach and now head coach. Remi has head coached the Australian U18 National Women's Team in IIHF Division 1B for the past 3 years, developing players who are currently playing in Australia, Canada, USA and Europe.
